Fawad Tamkanat was born in 1962, In a family of renowned Urdu poet shaz Tamkanat, in Hydrabad. He did B.Com in Osmania University and acquired Degrees in MFA (painting), S.N.S.central University of Hyderabad, BFA(Painting) (JNTU) collage of fine arts, Hyderabad. He has been awarded with University gold medal 1986 BFA (JNTU) university. Gold medal 1990 MFA University of Hyderabad, and is a recipient of Cultural Scholarship (HRD). He has done 14 Solo shows of Paintings and Graphic Prints in Europe and India, six shows in Denmark (1996-2003), two in Bombay (2000), three in New Delhi (1993-2001), two in Hyderabad (1996-1999) and one in Varanasi (1996). He has done several group shows in India and Abroad like in 1994 in New York curated by (Appa Rao Gallery), 1999 in Germany curated by Muller & Plate, 1996 in New Yorke, Singapore & Hong Kong curated by (Appa Rao Gallery), 2002 in Germany, six groups shows in Denmark in 2003, three group shows in Bombay from (1999-2003), two group shows in New Delhi in 1990 and one in Goa in 1999. He has his collection in Denmark, Germany and in India.
