LATE .D. DORAI SWAMY
Born in 1926 in Secunderabad. A self trained artist, proficient in book illustration. Worked as a freelance artist. Was Hon.Secretary, A.P., council of Artists Member, A.P. Lalit Kala Akademi, Hyderabad. Died on 1977.
EXHIBITIONS:
Participated regularly in major All India Art Exhibitions including National Exhibition of Art.Work represented in “25 years of Indian Art”, an Exhibition organised by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, 1972.
Graphics exhibited inn “Third British International Print Biennale, England 1972. Participated in the exhibition of “Contemporary Indian Paintings” which was sent by the “Indian Council for Cultural Relations”, New Delhi to Yugoslavia, Brussels, and Warsaw in 1974.Represented in the “First International Graphic Art Exhibition”, India Society, New Delhi. Represented in the “Third Triennale- India, 1975”, an exhibition of contemporary world art, organised by Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. Solo exhibition in 1964, 1965, 1966 and 1969.Graphic exhibition in 1967, 1968, 1970, 1972 and 1974.
AWARDS
Won awards in exhibition organised by the following art organizations: Hyderabad Art Society in 1954, 1971, 1976 and Gold Medal in 1970. All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society, New Delhi, In 1965. Academy of Fine Arts, Calcutta in 1970, Andhra Pradesh Lalit Kala Akademi in 1967, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973,1974, and Gold Medal in 1969. Andhra Pradesh Council of Artists, Hyderabad in Second All India Graphics in 1973, All India Contemporary Miniature, First Biennale_1975, Three Decades of Art in Andhra Pradesh in 1975. Third All India Graphics exhibition in 1976.
